Donate Stocks and Bonds

Gifts of appreciated assets enable you to give larger charitable contributions by saving the expense of paying capital gains taxes. As a result, your gifts can achieve an even greater impact.

One of the best ways to give appreciated assets is through gifts of stocks, bonds and mutual funds. Stocks that qualify as appreciated assets can be transferred to Church Ministries International, providing a larger gift to CMI, a larger tax-deductible receipt for you, and at no additional cost.

CMI receives the full value of the security and you receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock.

Transfering Shares Electronically

Your broker can assist you in transferring your shares from your account to Church Ministries International.

It is important to contact us at donations@churchministries.org when the transfer has been completed, or call us at (972) 941-4422.

We will need to know the number of shares, the name of the security, the purpose of the gift, and your name and address in order to fully process your gift and provide you with a tax-deductible receipt.

Giving a Certificate

You may deliver your stock certificate to your broker in order to have a new certificate issued in the name of Church Ministries International. Our tax identification number is 75-2267853. This certificate can then be mailed to us without endorsement.

You may endorse a stock certificate to Church Ministries International by printing and completing the Stock Power Form and the Security Waiver Form .
