Santiago, Chile – On Sunday, June
22, 2003, the Cordillera Church in Santiago, Chile
held graduation ceremonies for 34 church members who
successfully completed degrees in Biblical Studies
through the Latin American School of Theological
Studies. Cordillera Senior Pastor Francisco Rivera
conferred the degrees to the graduates. The Latin
American School of Theological Studies is an
accredited educational institution based in Miami,
Florida.
Some 700 people attended the
ceremony, including the Chilean Minister of
Education, Chilean Congressional leaders and the
mayor of the suburb of Santiago where the Cordillera
Church is located. Other guests included presidents
of various seminaries and theological institutions,
pastors, as well as family and friends of the
graduates. The event proved to be a wonderful
opportunity to share the gospel with friends, family
and civic leaders.
As part of their degree, graduates
completed coursework in subjects including:
Introduction to the Bible, Hermeneutics,
Ecclesiology, Great Bible Doctrines and Pastoral
Leadership. The courses were presented at the
church’s Bible Academy over the course of 6
semesters. Each student completed a minimum of three
years of study. As a result of the studies, the 34
graduates are now equipped with basic theological
knowledge to serve even more effectively within the
Cordillera Church.
