The Miraflores Vocal
Ensemble is one of the new generation of
music groups from Encounter churches
pioneering Spanish language worship music.. |
LATIN AMERICA – The Miraflores
Church is at the forefront of the development of
contemporary Spanish worship among the Encounter
churches of Latin America. Worship Minister Francis
Castañeda is a gifted musician and lyricist who,
with permission of English-speaking Christian
artists, has translated many popular worship songs
into Spanish. Earlier this year the Miraflores Vocal
Ensemble released their first worship album entitled
Hoy Te Rindo Mi Ser (Today I Give My Life to You).
In May, Colombian musical group,
Aldaba, released their second album entitled Cantos
de Cosecha (Songs of Harvest). Aldaba – the Spanish
word for “Door knocker” – is a unique group composed
of musicians from three different Encounter with God
churches in Bogotá, Colombia. Led by Santiago
Benavides, Aldaba is at the forefront of the
development of original Spanish Christian music.
Combining modern instrumentation with an Andean
musical style, Aldaba has struck a chord throughout
Latin America among many churches hungry for worship
music that reflects the unique musical style of
their cultures.
