The Fairhaven medical
missions team provided care to 925 people
and saw 384 people make first time decisions
for Christ. |
QUITO, Ecuador. In cooperation with
the Cumbayá Church in Quito, Ecuador, the Fairhaven
Church of Dayton, Ohio led a medical missions team
to Ecuador from January 21-29, 2006. The team,
comprised of 25 medical professionals and
volunteers, conducted three outreaches. The first
served in connection with the El Tejar Church—a
Qechua-speaking congregation located in the heart of
the colonial center of Quito. The second served
Quito street children in cooperation with an
outreach ministry of the El Batán Church. The third
served poor children in the Cumbayá suburb of Quito.
Cumbayá Church members worked alongside the
Fairhaven team providing local support, translation
and housing for the participants. In just five days
of ministry the team provided care for 925
people—half of these were children. Through their
evangelistic efforts 384 people made first time
decisions to follow Jesus Christ.
